Hi, as promised. Today I will reveal to you a full SEO case study for our brand new niche site, the site is this one: http://www.bowfrontaquarium.net
I want to keep this case study simple and easy to understand. Currently, this site rank in the top 3 for it’s main keyword: Bow Front Aquarium. Let’s take a look at the ranking history for this site:
You will notice that, after we start building the PBN backlinks to this site, the ranking is almost immediately increased and it only took us around 1 month for this site to get into the top 3 for it’s main keyword after we have built these PBN backlinks.
1. Website Creation and On-Page SEO
We use a similar niche site creation method like the one that we use in our Site BOLT service. We also try to follow the On-Page SEO factors that we have shared in this guide: https://www.impowerhouse.com/blog/100/page-seo-2015/
This site have 30+ indexed pages, have long articles in the homepage, no duplicate contents and also good keyword density. We haven’t put any affiliate links yet in this site since our focus is to rank this site first before doing any kind of monetization. We will put affiliate links in the near future and will update this case study again with the site’s monthly earnings.
2. Link Building Part 1 – Anchor Text Diversification
The first step of the link building would be building a few hundreds links using a very diverse anchor text variation. This is very important for new site like this so it can survive the Google Penguin update. We follow the method that is shared in this post to do anchor text diversification: https://www.impowerhouse.com/blog/87/perfect-anchor-text-optimization/
We use SEO Maximus service to do this since this service make this job much more easier and automated. I set up two campaign for this site, one Thunder A and one Volcano B and alternate these daily like the screenshot below (this will cost $60/mo in SEO Maximus credits):
We also use a very diverse anchor text in both of these campaigns and set the main keyword anchor text ratio to 5% or lower. After a few hundreds links is detected in backlinks checker like ahrefs.com or Majestic SEO (this usually take one month by using SEO Maximus), we then move to the next step of the link building.
Note: by using SEO Maximus alone we rank in the page 3 of google for it’s main keyword.
3. Link Building Part 2 – PBN Backlinks
This is the kind of backlinks that will give you a huge ranking boost. After we make sure that we have around 300 backlinks detected in ahrefs.com and have a good anchor text ratio, we then build the PBN backlinks using our Link Azure and Rank Evolve service and focus solely to rank the main keyword. We use around 40 to 50 backlinks from these network, dripped in over 2 weeks and the ranking just keep increasing every single week. Right now this site is in the top 3 of google for it’s main keyword.
All of these PBN backlinks is built using one anchor text, which is the main keyword: Bow Front Aquarium.
4. Conclusion
SEO is still pretty much alive and kicking in 2015. You don’t need to know a lot of tricks to rank in the first page of google, all you need to do is build good anchor text ratio and boost the main keywords using quality high PR backlinks and you will rank. The method that I’ve shared above can be used in any niches, even for highly competitive keywords, you will just need to build more backlinks and add more contents to your sites.

I don’t see the bow front aquarium ranking anywhere in the first 7 pages of Google. And on Majestic it has 0 TF.
This is an old case study so we didn’t do any SEO to that site anymore.

I’ve never searched for that keyword before nor had I gone to the actual website. But just to make sure, I opened up Microsoft Edge (new browser with Windows 10 – which I never use) and did the same search in Google. And there is your site on page 1!

Yes, we still have some customers using SEO Maximus daily, but for now I would recommend links from Rank HERO and Rank Fiesta since these are more powerful.
Brothers, i just started looking at the thread yesterday. today i decided to check the position of the website in question. its actually number 1 on google. this is about 7th month.
if this site has been number 1 for months, i mean, it must have returned its invest sum, so many times over.

Hi, the amount of links would depend on the niche and competition. I would recommend to try using the same package as above and adjust as you see fit.
You build links with SEO Maximus and set the main keyword anchor text ratio to 5% or lower. So when you build PBN links using only your main keyword, doesnt this raise the anchor text ratio above 5%? Leading to an over optimization penalty.
Hi Bret, we make sure these SEO Maximus links are in the 500+ links range so that when we build some PBN links the main keyword anchor text ratio is still below 10%. We will also continue the SEO Maximus link building for a few more months to keep the diversity even better.

Hi Raj, yes PBN links are using only the main keywords 🙂
We do not build links to this site anymore (since a few months ago) so that’s why the ranking has got lowered in the last few weeks.
You must still actively build links to your sites to keep the rankings.

Hi, no since not all links are detected in ahrefs, usually when you have 300 links detected in ahrefs from SEO Maximus campaign, the total links are actually in the 600+ range so this will not trigger the over optimization penaly.

Hi Yuvraj, yes definitely, you will only need to follow a similar method like above, you can replace our SEO Maximus service by building links from free sources such as web 2.0, social network, etc and use a very diverse anchor text for this. Then you will need to build the high PR links ( I would recommend to setup your own PBN ) and focus this to rank your main keywords.

I ordered three of those sites and I ask myself what is the risk/reward ration when I let you do all the backlinking with your services and I outsource the articles for 15$ a piece. Would their be any money left on the table for me.
I once bought a similar site with 100 articles about a certain netbook and it gave me around 100$ on adwords but it cost 275$ to build and mantain it and then I don’t count the hours of work invested.
Can you tell how I should invest in your services and what a reasonable return would be and if there is a reasonable change getting it?

Hi Peter, Site BOLT sites can easily earn $xxx per month from affiliate/adsense earnings once these sites get ranked in the first page of google SERP. You suggested both campaigns should be combine for effectiveness, making it: $160.
Secondly you call these “Link Diversity” which mean we can enter unlimited number of links. But you allow maximum “3url/keyword”
How then is the link diversity possible?

I am curious to see how this site does over time. I have at least 3 sites using your services now and none of them are ranking as well as this site is for the main terms.
After looking at majestic SEO and comparing site profiles to this one, the anchor text ratios lead me to believe that I might need some more diversity.
To put this in perspective, I have one site that has at least 50 Link Azure back links, plus an equal number of Link Fox links, and SEOMaximus campaigns and I am still not on page one.
I know that my on-page is solid, and the key word is supposed to be pretty low competition. I think I will try diversifying even more.

Any kind of link building is considered black hat by google, don’t follow their rules man, they are here not to help us webmasters make more money.
The time span is too short to call it a SEO success. In my practice this approach works this way only short term for newly created websites. The fact that ahrefs found backlinks doesn’t mean that google did. All new sites get some bonus from google and they rank higher on the first couple of month of their life. The approach can be considered working only if in let’s say 6 month the site is still ranked the same or higher. Otherwise the article is just based on momentum.
